Rock Park toilets: People were regularly trapped in the toilets after vandals damaged the doors
People regularly became trapped in the toilets and had to be freed by firefighters after vandals tampered with the locks.
The Rock Park Trust said it looked at a number of ways to solve the problem and has now installed new safety and security measures. Work has been carried out to repair two of the lavatories, and two other replacement doors are being manufactured and will be installed in the near future.
A new cleaning company, A-TAC Cleaning Limited, was appointed in December to open the lavatories in the morning and carry out twice daily cleaning. The Trust said it has already received positive feedback on the standard of hygiene at the toilets.
