Immerse yourself in film for three intensive days. Over the weekend a group limited to eight people will devise, write, shoot and edit a short film, complete with music, titles and a possible submission to one of the many short film festivals in the UK!
The weekend starts on Thursday evening after a sumptuous dinner served in the dining room at Little Silver House. We will take a relaxed look at different genres in British and European film with some practical scene examples screened from a variety of films by main-stream and avante garde directors from the likes of David Lean and Woody Allen through to Zinneman, via Goddard, Lang, Malle and Truffaut!
Friday morning starts at breakfast with a tour of the house and grounds, followed by our first Script Development session.
Be part of a crew, in front or behind the camera and make a short film, leave with a professionally edited DVD. For people of all ages and levels of ability. Set in a sumptuous country house, beautiful rooms, wonderful food.
This course is a practical introduction to producing your own short films and is designed to cover a broad number of creative and technical skills and attendees will be encouraged to engage with some, if not all of these, which are;
•Film analysis and Story telling
•Improvisation and an introduction to performing for the camera
•Storyboarding and script writing
•Directing for camera, scene setting, sound and lighting
•Using HDV camcorders and DSLR for video
•Introduction to Final Cut and consumer-priced editing software
