Is it me? Or does Barnstaple have too many supermarkets already without the need for another gigantic ASDA store? There's Tescos x2; one of which is so enormous it's like walking into a gigantic spaceship (and what do they do with all that STUFF they don't sell?) There's Lidl x2 (why do we need two of them?) There's Sainsbury's and all the garage and corner food shops in between. And so now we have ASDA looming too..... I just don't get it....what happened to thinking about the future, supporting local businesses and trying to be more green. Never mind using less plastic bags that take hundreds of years to degrade...why has this town got so many supermarkets? Am I missing something? What do you think?
