Come and visit the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage - Free children's event

As part of the programme of exciting creative summer activities in Barnstaple this year all families are invited to come and visit the Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage at Pilton College on Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th August from 10.30am – 3.30pm.

You can meet Lighthouse Willie all through the day and listen to his comic stories at 11am and 2pm. The retired sea dog will tell you lots of stories about kippers, guillemots, oyster smacks and the never ending menace of sea birds mess! Step into his cabin complete with red and white striped tower to watch funny animated films about his adventures. In between shows, peer through the cabin’s portholes, listen on headphones and watch more tales and animation.

On both days there’s a FREE drop in Sea Side craft workshop for families with children of all ages. Children and adults can make lovely driftwood creations of lighthouses, boats, seagulls and mermaids. Pop in for 10 minutes or a couple of hours, everyone is welcome.

We are hidden away in the college so just follow the sparkly signs to find us. Adults can enjoy a cup of tea in our pop up tea room, relax in a comfy chair and read a magazine after you have helped the kids with their crafting, everything happens in one big room so you are never far away from the action.
