Neil Langmead Arrested on Suspicion of Murdering Wife and Friend in Barnstaple

Local builder Neil Langmead who is suspected of murdering his wife and her best friend before setting fire to the house in Fort Mead Close, Barnstaple where they were killed has today been arrested.
Langmead, aged 40 is still under police guard in North Devon District Hospital where he is receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the house fire. He was arrested today on suspicion of the murders of his wife, Deborah
Jones and her friend Donna St John.
Officers investigating the murders continue to liaise with hospital
staff, and Detectives will Interview Neil Langmead as soon as Doctors
advise that he is well enough to be spoken to.
The family of both Deborah and Donna continue to work with and be supported by dedicated family liaison officers.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Mike West
commented, ‘I am very pleased with the assistance and information we
have had from the local community in relation to this tragic incident,
and to the additional response following the deployment of local
officers in and around the Town centre on Saturday night’.
