Remember! The B3230 at Muddiford is closed until Easter
By tinap | Thursday, March 07, 2013, 11:30
The B3230 at Muddiford will be shut until at least March 29, closing the route both ways to Ilfracombe and Combe Martin from Barnstaple, to allow repairs to an earlier landslip.
The road will be closed between Lynton Cross and Shirwell Cross. Road entrances and building access will not be within the closure. All business, including the Muddiford Inn, will be open as usual. Diversion signs directing all traffic via the A361 and A3123 will be in place. A shuttle bus is in operation linking to the 301 bus service.
Devon County Councillor Stuart Hughes, responsible for highway said: "It is absolutely vital we make repairs to this road. The extreme weather of the last few months has left much of our network in desperate need of repair and this is no exception. To leave it any longer would bring more problems in the long term and probably result in a worse situation for local traders and residents.
"We ask the community to bear with us, diversions are in place and signs have been put up stating businesses are open as usual."
Local County Councillor Andrea Davis said: "These works are essential, and in order for the work to be completed the road has had to be closed with no through route. Motorists should not ignore the road closed sign unless they are accessing local properties, however the Muddiford Inn is open for business as usual."

Even though the Muddiford road is closed the Muddiford Inn is still open for business. I hope they're not loosing too much business due to the road closure as their food is really delicious!! http://tinyurl.com/cfoouyt
