PETROC in Barnstaple has earned a £10m contract after being selected as one of eight national providers of the Government's National Citizen Service programme.
The college has been named the provider of the flagship service for the whole of the South West.
It will lead a group of 21 partners, made up of further education colleges and voluntary organisations, across the region in delivering the Government's personal and social development programme.
The programme offers 16 and 17-year-olds from different backgrounds valuable life experiences, through team and individual challenges run by selected organisations across the country.
Petroc earned the contract by providing NCS programmes on a smaller scale over the last three years.
Petroc's head of projects and external funding, Huw Davies, said: "It has been three years of hard work and we are delighted Petroc has demonstrated to the Government the college's capacity and expertise to compete with a variety of large nationally recognised businesses to deliver high quality projects in the South West region."
