Cold Weekend, Snow Possible
But then With an Atlantic front coming in from the west we can expect a spell of rain, sleet and snow throughout the country.
The Met Office is not certain which areas will receive the most snow but is currently predicting 5-10cm in central and eastern parts of the UK.
So make sure you watch out for weather updates and warnings over the next few days as we could get snow in Barnstaple.
Devon County Council gritters were out again yesterday salting 1,700 miles of Devon's main roads between 2.30pm and 6pm and again between 8pm and 3am.
Snow was cleared from parts of Exmoor and Dartmoor.
During this cold spell remember the following advice when driving:
- Avoid overnight travel unless really necessary.
- Never assume a road has been salted.
- Allow extra time for your journey and reduce your speed.
- Drive carefully bearing in mind the road conditions.
- Think how you can help elderly or vulnerable neighbours.
- Keep the radio on in the car so you can listen to local weather updates.
