Barnstaple businesses are invited to discover how to use their Wills and adopt plans to minimise inheritance tax burdens at a free seminar hosted by Devon chartered accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards.
Expert speakers Mary Jane Campbell and Jean-Paul Quertier will cover topics including business and agricultural property reliefs, maximising tax exemptions, using trusts to protect property, and tax efficient lifetime gifts to provide the best legacy for your family.
Simpkins Edwards, which provides chartered accountancy, tax consultancy and advisory services to small and medium sized businesses across the South West, is holding the session on Tuesday 15 November between 6.30pm and 7.30pm at The Barnstaple Hotel. It will include a question and answer session and light refreshments will be provided.
"In difficult economic times it's more important than ever to explore every possible way of passing on as much as possible to your beneficiaries, and forward planning is vital in achieving this," said Mary-Jane Campbell "We wanted to cover the subject of Wills and inheritance tax to encourage people to review their Wills which may have been drawn up several years ago and no longer be tax effective. The idea behind the seminar is to draw attention to the difficult issues and provide practical advice."
Those interested in attending should email Simpkins Edwards on barnstaple@simpkinsedwards.co.uk or call 0844 2579232 by Friday 11 November. A downloadable booking form is also available at www.simpkinsedwards.co.uk. It is open to all businesses and individuals, whether an existing client of Simpkins Edwards or not.
