A flood alert has been issued for the Lower River Taw and its tributaries from Newnham Bridge to Barnstaple, including Umberleigh, Chittlehampton, Swimbridge and Bishop's Tawton areas following heavy rainfall overnight and today.
A flood alert has also been issued for the Rivers Caen, Bradiford Water and Yeo and coastal streams from Braunton to Combe Martin
There is currently an amber warning of rain in place for North Devon which means people should be prepared as further rain continues to spread across South West England today. It will ease this afternoon, but further heavy rainfall is then expected this evening and overnight before finally clearing on Wednesday morning.
