Firefighters rescue deer trapped in lake at Arlington Court, Barnstaple

A young deer had to be rescued by Barnstaple firefighters yesterday afternoon after it became stuck in mud in the middle of a lake at Arlington Court, near Barnstaple.
A specialist rescue team from Barnstaple used an inflatable boat to reach the fawn which had become wedged in silt and was suffering from the effects of the cold.
The animal was successfully released and left in the care of the National Trust.
