Crowds packed Barnstaple's Pannier Market on the evening of Thursday 6th December and were treated to an evening of entertainment, seasonal stalls and Christmas carols.
Returning to Barnstaple after wowing the crowds at the Tour of Britain in September, and described as "The cream of British Street Entertainment", were Jones and Barnard who delighted the crowds with their comedy acrobatics, escapology and juggling routines.
The Town Council's carol service was lead by Fr. David Fletcher and accompanied by the Barnstaple Concert Band. Joining Deputy Mayor, Councillor Val Elkins, and the councillors to sing the carols were the Barnstaple Male Voice Choir, Barnstaple Jubilee Singers, North Devon All Starz and children from Yeo Valley Primary School. Unfortunately the Mayor could not attend due to ill health.
After the carols Father Christmas, the councillors and Jones and Barnard handed out sweets to all the children.
