Braunton Community College is one of the best in the country for improving pupil's performance, latest league tables have shown.
Liz Spear, Parish Council Chairman for Braunton, has joined North Devon MP Nick Harvey in congratulating a North Devon school on its performance.
Last month's secondary school performance tables revealed Braunton Community College to be among the best in the country for improved pupil performance between Key Stage 2 and GCSE level. Braunton was the only school in the Devon County Council area to rank in the tables.
Liberal Democrat Schools Minister David Laws has written to the school offering his congratulations.
Liz Spear said: "Such improved performance at Braunton Community College is great news, and I share the delight of teachers, other staff and parents who have all worked tremendously hard to ensure our children have the best start in life.
Nick Harvey said:"I am very pleased to hear that pupils have performed so well at Braunton Community College. It's great news for the young people who have benefited from their teachers' continuous effort to go the extra mile - they will be very well prepared for what lies ahead. Keep up the good work!"
